Sales Taxes
Recently many countries have passed laws that require "online marketplaces" to apply Sales Tax to transactions. Originally aimed at larger streaming services, the way these laws were written and the way they’re being interpreted means that they’re impacting many different types of companies, including ContentFans.
Starting January 1, 2021, you may see an additional tax added to your payment. If you are located in a region that requires us to charge Sales Tax / GST / VAT or local equivalent, the tax will be charged and remitted to your local taxing agency. Whether or not sales tax is applied to your Fan Payment depends on where you are located and the type of payment being made.
